Fun foods to make food while you’re camping

We love cooking and we love the outdoors. And what can be better than combining these two things? We have always joked that camping is a lot like catering, you have to plan ahead, you must bring everything you will need with you, you can only cook with the supplies you’ve packed and you have to please a lot of folks at once. And with that in mind, we put together some of our favorite camping recipes.

Summer Peach and Tomato Salad

This is such a fresh and easy salad to toss together, whether you are having a park picnic or spending a few days in the woods. The best part about this salad is that it actually gets better as it marinates, so you won’t need to fret about eating it right away.

What You’ll Need:

4-5 heirloom tomatoes

2-3 peaches OR nectarines

Fresh basil leaves

Fresh tarragon

Extra virgin olive oil

White balsamic vinegar

Salt & pepper

  1. Cut peaches & tomatoes into bite size chunks.
  2. Slice basil & tarragon and toss with tomatoes & peaches.
  3. Add salt & pepper to taste.
  4. For dressing, use about ¼ cup olive oil and 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar, adjust as necessary to your flavor preference.
  5. Toss and enjoy!
